The Battle For Hogwarts has begun PotterHeads: Harry Potter Film Rankings

We're continuing our rankings with arguably the most popular book turned film series to date: Harry Potter. So let’s hop on our Nimbus brooms and get started.

7.) Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince

Boring. Boring. Boring. They went with a strange blue hue for the movie too which made it feel like it wasn’t even part of the series. It was more of a distraction than a way to actually visualize the darkness. It’s mostly narrative filler with too much teen drama and Dumbledore dies. Can’t get worse than that.

6.) Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban

Bring in the dementors, a new professor, and finally a loving family member to Harry in Sirius Black. Much like Half Blood Prince was narrative filler, Azkaban is more action filler. Voldemort, who?

5.) Harry Potter & The Order of The Phoenix

Really strong narratively as Harry grows into a leader at Hogwarts. Umbridge is the perfect villain for this time in the series. If only the finale seemed less crammed and rushed.

4.) Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire

Action from start to finish. This was the moment the series went from PG to PG 13. New Director who never even read the books though, a lot more missing from the novels than usual for the series. At least we got dragons and Voldemort in physical form.

3.) Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets

The first time you get to see the real darkness at hogwarts. (If you follow the book it’s really where the trio actually become real friends.) Also introduction to Dobby, yay!

2.) Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 & 2

We're ranking Deathly Hallows’ two parts as one film. A great balance of excitement & story building leading up to the final battle at Hogwarts.

1.) Harry Potter & The Sorcerer's Stone

Did you really think this wouldn’t be #1? If you ignore the fact that Harry never actually casts a spell for the entire movie you can’t beat the nostalgia of seeing your favorite book series on screen for the first time.

Do you agree with our list? Which series should we rank next? Let us know in the comments!
