"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" Movie Review #1
Let's start with the bottom line: The Last Jedi is great.
Every aspect of The Last Jedi feels like a Star Wars film; the aesthetic settings, the illustrious film score, the peril of holding on to hope....it's all fine tuned and perfectly calibrated for spectacular entertainment and a proper step forward for the franchise.
If you thought The Force Awakens was fantastic, everything's been improved for The Last Jedi. The cast, for example, take ownership of their characters up a level. And the visuals are stunning; besides being incredibly artistic, details are beyond believable, leading me to point out that 3D is distinguished and worthwhile for those who can tolerate the effect.
It's important to point out that The Last Jedi is, first and foremost, about the narrative; pushing the story we are invested into forward, so be ready for great action, and periodic breaks between the action.
But that takes nothing away from how good this movie is. "When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power, and beyond that, something truly special." These had to have been words from director Rian Johnson to the Star Wars saga first before they became critical dialog in this masterfully crafted film.
