"Paddington 2" Movie Review

There are things in this world that are so adorable, they're impossible to hate. Puppies are a prime example. Or pictures of babies. Or anything small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

After proving himself in his second theatrical outing, we can add Paddington to that list if you haven't already.

Where most movie sequels fail is in trying to recreate the magic of the predecessor. It's a delicate art to give audiences more of what they liked without overdoing it. But whether it be the marmalade between two pieces of bread or the florescent treats baked by inmates outfitted in pink, Paddington 2 managed to find that sweet spot.

Stellar lifelike CGI once again brings this curious bear to life. And excellent scripting once again drops hits of things that will play a major part of the conflict resolution. And the scenarios Paddington gets himself into are precarious as ever. If you liked the first Paddington movie, this sequel is more of the same in the best way possible.

And if nothing else, Paddington 2 teaches us that you can make a great sequel without the need for a cheesy subtitle.
