"A Quiet Place" Movie Review

Apparently, comedians make for exceptional horror filmmakers.

Jordan Peele surprised everyone when he churned out a stellar psychological thriller, blending horror elements, race relations, and a "brain-teasing" premise in Get Out. Now, John Krasinski, best known for his part as Jim Halpert in The Office, has written, directed, and starred in what could possibly be the best horror movie of 2018.

Taking place in a world ravaged by monsters that hunt using sound, Krasinksi and his real life wife, Emily Blunt, play parents trying to raise and protect their kids without making noise. It’s a movie I don’t want to give too much away about, so here’s what I will say:

The acting talent is phenomenal. Blunt and Krasinski don’t have to say much at all to firmly establish themselves as grade A actors here. I’ll also say the suspense will likely keep audiences biting their nails from start to finish. Finally, I’ll say the conclusion is worth the 90 minutes of terror.

A Quiet Place is thrilling cinematic entertainment. Not over-produced, not underdeveloped, full of heart, and never dull. If you watch it...and you should...prepare to get well acquainted with the edge of your seat.
