The last time we saw the Avengers, half of life in the universe had been reduced to dust by the infamous snap from Thanos. Avengers: Endgame picks up three weeks after the tragic universe-altering incident and what follows is an epic event film for the ages.

It’s important to walk into Endgame understanding that while it’s a direct continuation of Infinity War, it’s also a very different film. Infinity War capitalizes on the fun side of the Avengers, slinging audiences from one high-octane match up to the next. Endgame, however, is more focused on the characters and the relationships they have that motivate each of their most crucial decisions.

There’s still plenty of fun to be had in mesmerizing Endgame action sequences though. In fact, Endgame offers some of the most cheer-worthy moments of the entire MCU. And if you’re invested in the story being told, this three hour movie doesn’t feel that long at all.

But with so much to juggle, it’s an impossible task to make Endgame perfect. There are certainly aspects of the film I would’ve liked to have seen more of, and details I wish would’ve been more enlightening.

But I can’t complain. As far as I’m concerned, a conclusion to the Infinity Saga couldn’t be more satisfying than this. And while Endgame doesn’t provide too many answers regarding the future of the MCU, it’s a dramatic counterpart to Infinity War’s spirited and upbeat outing, making this two-part Avengers finale perfectly balanced…as all things should be.
