Last weekend, Crazy Rich Asians was adjusted up to $26.5 million three day total. Many were a expecting a tight race between Crazy Rich Asians and The Happytime Murders but while the latter limped out of the gate to subpar $10 million Crazy Rich Asians rode critical acclaim and audience appeal to a $25 million total. The drop of 5.7% according to Box Office Mojo would place the film in the top 30 since 1982. If you remove Christmas week releases - it cracks the top 10. A.X.L. the second release this weekend was a no show - barely cracking $2.5 million as well as the top 10 overall at the box office.
